Turkish Airlines continue scheduled flights to Sulaymaniyah, Iraq
With the reintroduction of this service, the carrier now operates to six Iraqi cities, including Baghdad, Najaf, Erbil, Basra, and Kirkuk, expanding its presence in the country.
Ahmet Bolat, chairman of Turkish Airlines’ board and executive committee, highlighted the significance of Sulaymaniyah, praising the city for its natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture.
He added: “We are delighted to welcome our guests back to Sulaymaniyah with our safe, comfortable, and high service standards,” noting that the flights will enhance the airline’s regional network while strengthening economic and social connections between Türkiye and Iraq.
Initially, flights will run four times a week—on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays—between Istanbul Airport and Sulaymaniyah International Airport, with daily operations set to begin after March 27, 2026.
