Calling on Veterans for ‘Rolling Thunder’ Bowling Action!

The Oswego County Veterans’ Services Agency (VSA) invites veterans and their families to come out for a free “Rolling Thunder” bowling event on Saturday, Sept. 26. From 6 to 8 p.m., make some noise on the hardwoods at Lighthouse Lanes, 295 E. Albany St., Oswego.

The free event includes two hours of bowling, rental shoes, pizza, wings and beverages. Participants should arrive at 5:30 p.m. for lane assignments.

Those who want to join the fun must register by Monday, Sept. 21. To sign up, contact Veterans’ Principal Peer Mentor Ward Bowen at 315-746-2433 or dyerprogram@oswegocountyny.gov.

Information will also be available about the Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program and other resources available to veterans.

The Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program was founded in memory of PFC Joseph P. Dwyer, who served as a combat medic for the U.S. Army in Iraq. The national program serves to provide veterans with support for a wide range of challenges that they face regarding their overall well-being and re-integration into civilian life.
